Tire
The Indorama Mobility Group may be seen as a new force in the tire reinforcement industry, but its unique competitive capabilities are years in the making, from its legacy companies PHP Fibers, Performance Fibers, Glanzstoff and Kordarna Plus.
Indorama Mobility Group has a full product portfolio of tire reinforcement products made from PET, PA, Rayon, Aramid and hybrids that address the evolving needs of the tire industries. The tire market sub-segments we serve include PCLT, UHP, racing, run-flat, motorcycle, aircraft, all-terrain vehicle, agricultural and industrial tires. With the 7 Centers of Expertise globally, we continue improving the existing product and develop new and tailor-made materials to meet the specific and high demanding technological target of the future tires (OE, Rolling Resistance, Comfort improving and Noise reduction, Sustainability and new regulatory compliance). Tire customers will have from our portfolio a wider product performance range to enable a wider latitude of tire design. We are strongly focus on Innovation, aiming to expand our product offering from each of our manufacturing sites worldwide to deliver best customer value.
Tire Markets Served
UHP Tire segment emerged as tire is desired to perform at higher speed, better responsiveness and handling with lower propensity to overheat. Tire reinforcement materials of different performance including advance PET, rayon, aramid, hybrid fabrics, and SEC are deployed to deliver the required performance.
Ultra-High Performance (UHP) Tire Characteristics
Performance Parameters
- Responsiveness

- Traction
- Braking
- Low noise
- Wet grip
- Predictability
Advantages
- Constant performances at high stress and thermal conditions
- Grip the road better – improve traction, braking and handling
- Higher speed rating than normal tire
- Offer a safer and more performing drive than normal tires
Racing tires are designed to compete and to exhibit the highest repeatable performance, steering response and reliability. It poses high requirements in the design, compound, and reinforcement materials. Aramid/PA 6.6 hybrid has been deployed in cap ply to keep tires in the best operating conditions guaranteeing constant performances in a wide range of terrains and temperature conditions.
Aircraft tires are designed and built to withstand extremely heavy load for short duration. The load bearing reinforcements consists of multiple layers of carcass tire cord fabrics. While most aircraft tires have bias construction, new tires are increasingly built with radial carcass. To deliver the performance for the aircraft tire, the reinforcement fibers materials have to meet specific stringent requirements: Super high breaking tenacity to meet especially demanding properties during emergency running when the tire load may be doubled; ability to function in a very wide spread of working temperatures ranging from minus 50 °C or below to plus 150 °C; excellent adhesion to rubber for shock absorbing behavior during landing under harsh conditions; high fatigue resistance for long and save product life. Indorama Mobility Group offers Enka® Nylon yarn and Aramid/PA66 hybrid cord to meet your stringent requirement.
Agricultural tire segment is divided into bias and radial tire segment. On account of the long curing cycle and high endurance in performance requirement, PA 6 and PA 6.6 are materials of choice. As agricultural tractor are modernized, requirement for farm tire on speed, toughness and handling are increased and increased use of Polyester and Rayon in the radial agricultural tire.
Forestry tire is designed to deliver performance in all tough terrain against cut, puncture and tears for maximum durability. Forestry tires are reinforced with steel carcass and belt. Aramid has been adopted to provide lightweight, anti- puncture and non-corrosion properties.
The motorcycle tire market can be divided into radial and bias tire segments. In the radial tire where ultra high performance, control and lightweight are dictating the adoption of various carcass materials such as Polyester, Rayon and Aramid. Motorcycle bias tire demand continues to grow in emerging economies and the bias tire has adopted PA 6 and PA 6.6 as material of choice given their good fatigue resistance. With the introduction of our PLYTEC®, we deliver a new alternative to nylon for bias tires that creates real value in motorcycle tire applications. PLYTEC® is an engineered reinforcement designed specifically to deliver superior value versus PA 6 and PA 6.6. It passes the indoor and field tests that PA 6 and PA 6.6 pass. It has been validated that it cures at higher temperature, eliminate the post-cure inflation process and as PET it does not absorb moisture.
The are a range of tires which are smaller in volume and specialty in nature. Including the Specialty tire for All Terrain Vehicles, Snowmobile Scooter. While Polyester and Polyamide are common materials of choice, rayon and aramid maybe deployed in specific applications
